Home Dealing With Wildfire Smoke

Wildfire smoke is Toxic

In many places in the world wildfires are a huge problem, not only because of the destruction they cause but also because of the effects the smoke has on health.

The smoke can rise many kilometres in the air and can cause air pollution in places hundreds of miles away from the actual fires.

The polluted air from wildfire smoke gets more toxic as it ages and can get up to four times more toxic than it originally was.

Dangers of Wildfire smoke

Wildfire smoke contains carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, irritant volatile organic compounds, nitrogen oxide and air toxics.

The microscopic particles in wildfire smoke can get deep into your lungs and it’s this particulate matter (PM2.5) that poses the greatest threat.

Exposure to particle pollution from the inhalation of smoke has been linked to premature death.

symptoms caused by breathing wildfire smoke

Anyone exposed to the smoke from wildfires can suffer symptoms ranging from a runny nose, burning eyes, phlegm and coughing to difficulty breathing, wheezing and headaches.

People with existing conditions (such as asthma or lung and heart disease), children and pregnant women are at a greater risk of developing problems from inhaling smoke.

Smoke from wildfires can aggravate lung or heart disease and existing symptoms can be worsened, sufferers may also develop other symptoms such as shortness of breath and chest discomfort or pain.

Breathing Safe Air Indoors

You can breathe safe air during wildfires with an air purifier capable of removing harmful pollutants.

Our medical grade purifiers capture, kill and convert harmful pollutants including formaldehyde, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), ammonia, odour, ozone, bacteria, virus (including COVID-19), pollen, Carbon Monoxide, Benzene, Sulphur Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide and particles smaller than PM2.5.

Intelligent sensors automatically detects particles and gases in your room, constantly reporting them on the LED screen along with temperature and humidity levels.

Purer Clean Air® purifiers are rated as HEPA filter, MERV 13 – medical grade.

Purer Clean Air® purifiers are rated as P4 and F4 grades, the highest levels of performance on the CCM scale.

Safe Air In Vehicles

Using our vehicle air purifiers you are able to provide yourself and your passengers with safe air to breathe during wildfires.

Air pollutants found in vehicles include nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, micron-level particulate matter, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. All have a damaging impact on the health of people and the environment. Many areas and particularly cities still fail to meet the health based national air quality objectives and limit values – especially for smaller particles and nitrogen dioxide.

The use of our In Vehicle air filtration units with patented DNO filters will purify air pollutants including formaldehyde, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), ammonia, odour, ozone, bacteria, virus (including COVID-19), pollen, Carbon Monoxide, Benzene, Sulphur Dioxide, Nitrogen Dioxide and particles smaller than PM2.5.

What our customers are saying

I couldn’t have been any more impressed with the product. It has kept my extremely clinically vulnerable wife safe after I had been out with clients in the car. I’m 62 and it must rate as one of the most important purchases I’ve ever made.

On the recommendation of another driving instructor I purchased the in car air purifier, the amount of confidence it has given myself and my pupils in protecting us from COVID-19 is immeasurable, I changed the filter after 4 months, well worth the money!!!

Extremely happy with both the products purchased and the service from the team at Purer Clean Air. From our initial enquiry through to on-site to delivery and set up communication and customer service was excellent. The machines themselves are in operation and I'm positive are contributing to our safe operating environment.
